Bridge of Aspiration
In how many ways can a single subject be photographed?
The bridge of Aspiration, which connects the Royal Opera House to the Royal Ballet School in London, is the subject for one of the assignments given to the students in my course.
The idea is to photograph the bridge in every possible way. Reflection, silhouette, abstract, the students are encouraged to look around for unusual angles of view and break the pattern of the “tourist photographer” who sees the bridge from the corner, takes a picture and goes away.
Photography is a great way to unlock creativity. Learning to see things from different angles and looking at things from different points of view, perspectives, can only have a good impact in every other aspect of our lives.
