Cities and artists in dialogue
Multigraphias is a multimedia art project including different formats and languages – mainly literature and photography – created by Gabriela Canale and Isis Fernandes in 2008 with the idea of translating the poetics of the cities.
Multidialogues, online since April 2010, is a daily creative game between people living or transiting in different parts of the world who, each and every day, produce videos, texts, poetry, images, any kind of content about the cities where they are at that moment, creating a dialogue between themselves and the cities. The results are unexpected and unique. Daily and collectively, the artists create together an imaginary, virtual and multimedia city.
Currently 4 cities are in dialog:
Berlin (with coordinator Isis Fernandes)
Sao Paulo (with director Gabriela Canale)
Londrina (with resident artist Ygor Raduy)
London (with resident artist Luciana Franzolin)
Artists from all around the world are invited to participate on a regular basis.
For Multigraphias, I use mainly my mobile camera and a pro-compact canon with manual settings. As the work has to be created and published on the same day, and daily, not always I have my SLR on me. It's essential to be ready to capture what is happening at any moment, and publish online as soon as possible.
These are some examples of my work for Multigraphias. They include photographs, interventions (photo colages and montages), videos and texts.
